Quirky lil clock toot..

i needed a new clock... turns out that one of my clocks that had been reading the SAME time forEVER was that way cuz it was BROKE.  haha!  :D

sOoo.. i decided to buy a new one.. but just a cheapie..  it looked *okay* online..

honestly, i could NOT in good conscience put this up.. reminds me of school..

sOo, i decided to go fancy.. cuz, well.. u know me.. lol

i broke out my stash of modpodge, magazine cut outs & a brush & went at it!

i used old Anthropologie & Free People catalogs..
they have awesome texture & prints..

Step 1: remove the clock glass *face thingy* before you begin..

Step 2: paint your lil' magazine papers everywhere!

Step 3: put the face thingy back on before the podge dries completely.. (to make sure you don't jack up  ALL your hard work.. podge dries hard.. you want the paper to give a lil' as you put the face thingy back on)

Step 4: enjoy all your hard work!

i warn you before you do this one.. modpodge is a LOT like kindergarten glue projects..

i started havin' flashbacks of when i had to peel the *skin-like* layer of glue from my palms..

i'm STILL being blown away by this stuff.. finally working on my FIRST project, and i found this lil' pic that i HAD to share.. what a craZy gal.. i'd LOVE to know her RIGHT NOW...

she decided to "try it out" on one of her FIRST projects, too.. a Volkswagen Beetle!!! she's my kind o' podger.. LOL

podge sumthin, girl!!

okay.. sO, i KNOW that i've been planning to modpodge sumthin' for about a bazillion years now, but i think i finally have it figured out! ... and i can't wait.

i even daydreamed of the project yesterday and this morning..

this is truly an inspiring image.. i don't know if this was actually decoupaged, but it "feels" like it to me. =)

i'm tellin' you.. modpodge is INSANELY magical! most people would've told this woman that she was goin' craZy if she said she was gonna modpodge her shoes.. i don't know what kind of friends she has, but i NEED some real motivators like this!

look at these pics.. i am impressed. sO.. funny enough, before i even created this post, i had my kids with me at the table, cutting out patterns of fun magazine clippings.. something good is bound to happen, i keep telling myself.. ^_^

honestly, when i saw THIS story, i was like come ooooon... MODPODGE.? you gotta be kidding me. you don't decoupage sumthin you're gonna wear on your feet. and NOW... after seeing her cute shoes, i'm convinced that modpodge can transform basically anything..

i bought the "spray" kind of acrylic stuff..

i get the heebie-jeebies just thinkin' of sprayin' that stuff and breathing in all of the noxious fumes..

sO.. why didn't anyone tell me sooner that i could just use modpodge and a sponge brush.. to decoupage my ENTIRE world!? is it that you just don't know... or are you like me, holding out so people don't steal your ideas?? :P

either way, i want a BIG container for Christmas.. the stuff that GOLD is made of.. ;-)
