thank-FULL

okay. i missed a day. it's fine.

this is MY blog. ;-)

today.. it's still Sunday to me.. (i didn't go to bed yet)

i'm thankful for SUNDAYs in Manhattan. not icecream. that would be sundae. eh heh..

i'm thankful for EVERY opportunity to worship with the body of Christ. i attend Times Square Church in Manhattan.. and i'm really grateful to God for placing me in such a fruitful place.

God's presence is uniquely awesome. and it's always refreshing to enjoy TRUE fellowship with the family of God.

thank-full #2

i'm thankful for God's faithfulness!!

today is day 2 of my things i'm thankful for posts.

i do NOT do well if i'm overwhelmed.. at least not always.

lots of times i shut down.

a friend has "hired" me to make a party dress for her & i REALLY wanted to have it ready for her so that she could try it on tomorrow. so far, it's not even cut... and that sucks. *just a lil' bit*

it's 11:35 PM according to my clock at the moment.. and i really don't have the desire to go start cutting. *ugh*

it's all good.

sO, i'm thankful for God's faithfulness. 'cuz even we're not faithful, the Bible says that God STILL is.

TRUE STORY!!

& i'm thankful for HIS faithfulness!!
-on THAT note-
i'm gonna try my best tonight to get somewhere with this dress.. i've been challenged by the character of my Savior! if He is faithful.. & i'm supposed to be like HIM.. then i need to attempt to show a faithful character as well..

lesson learned!!
i love this life! :)

THANK-full!!

i decided JUST NOW that i HAVE to do a things i'm thankful for list!

as a matter of fact, i'm probably gunna start a THANKFUL THURSDAY!! Yay!

what a great way to be reminded that we shouldn't be selfish, self-centered bratty kids who throw tantrums over the littlest lack.

-__-

bleh.

i'll do one thankful thing a day this week.. then on Thanksgiving, i'll try to make a top ten list.

this is already fun!! ^.^

(or maybe i'm just a dork.. O_o)

eh heh.

anyway. today, i'm thankful for thrift shops.

money is tight.
i'm ok with that.
the reality is that we all need to be okay with that..
it may just get worse.

but this post is NOT about tight money.. (HA! witty, right??)

i LOVE thrift shops. i think i'd be the ONLY millionaire shopping at 'em if i WAS a millionaire.

don't get excited. i'm NOT a millionaire. *honestly*

heh heh..

anyway... in being *thank-full* for thrift shops.
i SCORED big time today!!

i'm sO happy.

u see those FLY-girl shoes?? TEN bucks! LOL..

i don't buy second hand shoes. i think that's YUK. for VERY obvious reasons. i get *squeamish* in just goin' bowling.. O_o ick.

blehk.

these are NEW shoes!!! i'm a happy girl. :)

if u give a mom a muffin..

there's a GREAT book called If You Give a Moose a Muffin...

this poem is a spin-off of that great book.

it's cute.

makes me wanna write my own.. :)

If You Give A Mom A Muffin....

She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she'll find dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She'll look for her cookbook ("101 Things To Do With a Pound of Hamburger").
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The check book is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two year old's diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring.
Her five-year-old will answer and hang up.
She'll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are...
If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

i hope u get to eat your muffin today. O_o

boldness.. and transparency.

something that we should fight for. there is an absolute dearth of integrity in this world, if you ask me.

& yea, i know u didn't.. LOL..

but i gotta tell ya. i just read THIS article and i'm amaZed at Melody's honesty. yea, so the pain has passed... but the woman has a story to share! and not about some fluffy bunnies either.

she has experienced something that has seemingly left her longing for a sensitivity that she sO needed to experience during her time of trial.

"they" say experience is the best teacher.. WHO is THEY??? well.. anyway, "they're" telling a partial truth.

i pray that we'd ALL learn from this type of situation.. whether by reading Melody's story OR just seeing the NEEDS around us. God is giving me a new sensitivity for people around me.. a burden of sorts. to forget about myself. and think about and PRAY for others.

i know that it's what God wants. what good is a selfish, self-centered bratty girl?

none.

Jesus Christ deserves ALL of the glory in our lil' lives. 'cuz he's bigger. a LOT bigger.

writer's block..?

that's what i'm dealing with right now. i just finished a project & i TOTALLY forgot to post about it. (it sure would come in handy right now..)

instead, i'm left with tonight's "exciting" happening.

repair work. *bleh*

i'd rather leave you with a cool quote. i think that would be more fun..

An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.

great words to live by.. i hope your day is creative!! :)

cute story time..

this one's a lil' extra for all u kid lovin' bloggers..

it's hailing here right now.. thundering, lightning, raining... AND hailing.

interesting.

sO, j-boy #3 comes to me and says, "Mommy, i FEEL the lightning in my window."
sO naturally i wanna know what lightning FEELS like.. so i asked him.
his answer, "it FEELS like nothing."

heh heh.. eh heh.

i LOVE the age when the senses are all discombobulated..

(and i LOVE the word discombobulated)

my favorite example of this **discombobulation** EVER is from this convo..

same kid.. different moment.

someone leaves the bathroom.. j-boy #3 responds when he goes into the same bathroom..

"it smells HOT in here."

i STILL don't know what he meant by that, but i probably shouldn't WANT to know either.. O_o

i hope your tomorrow FEELS wonderfully yummy. =)
