i'm thankful for my lil' people..

i have three.

they're funny.. creative.. and sweet.  & i like 'em.

this is a pic i took of them in the park.. i didn't even hafta ask them to hold hands..

they aren't all that special.. i just like to doodle. a LOT.

i feed birdies on my fire escape.. maybe that's what makes me draw them so much.. i enjoy watching them enjoy tiny nibbles & fight due to mere greed. lol..

haiku for u. *fail*

i came to my blog today for the first time in over a month & realized how much i suck.

i haven't written here in AGES, at least that's how it feels..

and sOo.. i realized why..  a lot of times as a blogger, it's easy to feel like no one is reading.. when you're not keeping count.  O_o

sO, i decided to take a peek @ my stats.. and sure enough, people out there in the blogosphere are willing to take a look @ my lil' piece of the universe.

sOooOo.. i took a moment to write a haiku. this one is dedicated to YOU *dear readers*.

so.. i blew it. i typed a 7 syllable line to end the thing.. sOoo. this is actually a FAIKU. 

that's a new kind. *fake* haiku. heh. heh.

i decided JUST NOW that i HAVE to do a things i'm thankful for list!

as a matter of fact, i'm probably gunna start a THANKFUL THURSDAY!! Yay!

what a great way to be reminded that we shouldn't be selfish, self-centered bratty kids who throw tantrums over the littlest lack.

i'll do one thankful thing a day this week.. then on Thanksgiving, i'll try to make a top ten list.

anyway. today, i'm thankful for thrift shops.

money is tight.

i'm ok with that.

the reality is that we all need to be okay with that..

it may just get worse.

but this post is NOT about tight money.. (HA! witty, right??)

i LOVE thrift shops. i think i'd be the ONLY millionaire shopping at 'em if i WAS a millionaire.

don't get excited. i'm NOT a millionaire. *honestly*

If You Give A Mom A Muffin....

She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she'll find dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She'll look for her cookbook ("101 Things To Do With a Pound of Hamburger").
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The check book is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two year old's diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring.
Her five-year-old will answer and hang up.
She'll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are...
If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

i hope u get to eat your muffin today. O_o

sO, j-boy #3 comes to me and says, "Mommy, i FEEL the lightning in my window."

sO naturally i wanna know what lightning FEELS like.. so i asked him.

his answer, "it FEELS like nothing."

i LOVE the age when the senses are all discombobulated..

(and i LOVE the word discombobulated)

my favorite example of this **discombobulation** EVER is from this convo..

same kid.. different moment.

someone leaves the bathroom.. j-boy #3 responds when he goes into the same bathroom..

"it smells HOT in here."

i STILL don't know what he meant by that, but i probably shouldn't WANT to know either.. O_o

we got a new kitty. his name is Meowy. (pronounced Maui)

he's as skittish as they come, but quite the affectionate feline.

my kiddos have been prayin' 4 a fuzzy sumthin' for MONTHS now.. i think it's about time we consider one that looks a lil' sumthin' like one of these.. that way, if they make a mess of the place, at LEAST i'll get a good laugh just from lookin' @ how freakishly funny they are..

the funniest part is.. they don't know that they look sO funny... hee hee..

i'm pretty sure that lil' birdie was right. i just have to find one.. or i guess make one??

upon a closer look, i discover that whatever makes a "nina plate" a "nina plate" has a mixture of modern with vintage. at least that's what it looks like to me.

i'm still sure that i need one. =)
